5/6/2008 11:19 AM

Those of you who are curious about Treasury versus mortgage rate spreads may want to scan this article from the Cleveland Fed. Staging your home does work
5/1/2008 6:22 AM

Staging can be as simple as adding some candles to inside a fireplace to moving some furniture out of a room to make it feel larger.

Here are some tips for properly staging a home:

  • Remove family photos, religious symbols, or ......

Fannie would rather borrowers NOT walk away, and mortgage investor earnings
4/19/2008 3:03 PM

Here is an update I recieved from one of my lenders. Interesting reading.

Wells Fargo posted a $2 billion profit in the first quarter on record revenue of $10.6 billion, whereas Washington Mutual, the nation's sixth-largest originator, lost $1.14 billion. And JPMorgan Chase did better than both, reporting net income of $2.4 billion for......

Housing market update

At least one US government official has spoken out regarding mortgage practices in no uncertain terms; unfortunately he probably had little leverage over lenders generally and still doesn't:

Newspapers Still Worth Reading and Election Day
3/30/2008 12:36 PM
For those who believe newspapers are not worth reading, the Saturday, March 29 Freeman and the Sunday, March 30 Journal Sentinel give strong evidence why that’s not true.  First I have to commend the Freeman for recruiting my former Butler Middle School colleague (we taught together for 30 years) and friend John Schoenknecht to write [.........

The Monday, March 10, edition of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has an editorial about the Great Lakes Compact and my role in fighting for what’s in the best interest of Waukesha’s citizens.  It does a good job of explaining what the city has been doing the last two years to solve Waukehsa’s long term water [.........

Just a reminder that you have until 8 p.m. today to vote in the Wisconsin Presidentilal Primary.  Also, because we have an open primary, you can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary, but not both.  I respect anyone who has strong political opinions of any party, but what I don’t understand is the [.........
